All replacement glass & glazing since 2002 requires some form of Building Regulations. Proof of this is required from a solicitor when selling your home. This evidence, in a form of a certificate, shows the replacement windows comply with the building regulations.
A FENSA certificate showing that the work has been completed by an experienced professional installer. This person or company is a member of a ‘Competent Person Scheme’ such as FENSA.

You provide a certificate from the local authority building control that states the works carried out have been approved under the building regulations.
If you choose to complete the work yourself you must contact the local building authority as soon as you can to inform them of your project. You must also supply them with dates for when you plan to commence the works and arrange for them to visit your home, during and after the installation. This is to confirm the work has been completed in accordance with all the regulations that are involved.
